Today is a new day...and I can laugh about my day yesterday!
Yesterday I had intentions of bringing some boxes and stuff to the new house. I got stuff ready at the front door and went to move the truck to the front door so I can just load up. Keep in mind that I have done this before...but yesterday, for some reason - "objects in mirror are closer than they appear"!
As I was backing up...this is what happened:
Looks much worse than it is...I merely nudged the porch but because of the rotten state of my porch, it just sorta went and I was really scared that the whole porch was going to come crashing down. I immediately moved the truck back into the driveway and came in and called hubby...crying! He went on to give me trouble saying I was too close, use my mirrors, blah blah blah - thanks for making it better. I was mostly scared of having to call my landlord and tell him...I mean we are leaving and I had to do this right before we left. On the debate side of it though...the porch was rotten and he had been promising me a new porch for the last 3 years...
I watched that porch all day...wouldn't let anyone come in or out of the front door, I even placed a small orange pylon so no one would come by and get hurt by it. Once Hubby came home, he assessed the damage and him, Butter and Dan all attempted to fix it...or better yet, get the pole in a more "safe" position.
I still have not seen my landlord to tell him, but I am hoping he doesn't give me trouble :(
So if that wasn't enough...I waited all afternoon for Tanner to wake up so we could run to the store to get some baking things I needed to make Social Tea squares. When Tanner finally did wake up, it was close to when our visitors were coming for supper. I loaded the kids in the truck and ran over to the store. I raced in to grab eggs and butter and went back out to the truck...only, I couldn't turn the key or anything...what the hell (keep in mind that the day before yesterday, as we were driving in the city, our muffler fell off so now we have to spend $300 on that). I kept trying and my key was like locked. Hubby's truck has some sort of funky alarm system and all of a sudden I couldn't remember what to do...was it click unlock on the keypad or the door...I just couldn't figure it out. So I ran into the store again, called his cell...on the fifth time, he still did not answer (keep in mind that when I had my cell, I would get in $hit for not answering - "what's the point of a cell phone if you don't answer") I was pissed off at this point and sweating, so I just called my mom to come and pick us up. I thought I would try one more time...nothing...I looked at the dash to see if there was anything that would say "hey, do this"....then there it was...
Yep, I had left the truck in drive. How does one do that...seriously? I guess I was in such a hurry, that when I pulled into the parking lot, I just turned the key off? I have never done this. Therefore, it made sense why the key wouldn't come out and stuff. I got back inside, laughed to myself, put the gear into P and started the truck with no problem!
I was clearly in another world yesterday....don't judge!

Frustrated - My Baby Doesn't Sleep
It is 4:07 am as I am writing this post. I am tired, I am exhausted and I am beyond frustrated. Tanner will not sleep. Wait, he does sleep, but only an hour at a time.
Tonight he had a bottle around 8 then was down...up at 11, another bottle, up at midnight, no bottle, up at 1, no bottle, up at 2:20, a bottle, up at 3 and now again, was up at 3:45. I am drained.
I realize that babies are all different and this is far from being abnormal but it's killing me. What can I do? I have changed his position in the crib, I have added comfier blankets, taken them away...
He falls asleep in my arms fine, then when I put him down in his crib, he squirms and groans...you can put his soother in but he can't keep it in, so within 5 mins, it's out and he's up again.
I realize that somedays he sleeps more during the day and that could be the problem too...he's not gassy, I don't think but he is uncomfortable.
Anyways, I am going to try to put him asleep and tuck him in his stroller - that works during the day...I don't care - I NEED SLEEP!

Wedding Weekend
This weekend was Lindsay's wedding - and as of Friday evening I was still wondering if Maddy was going to have the strength to even walk down the aisle as the flowergirl...I wasn't too concerned because Lindsay's niece was the other flowergirl, so if Maddy had to back out, they would still have one...but lo and behold, she finally got some Gravol into her (by emergency doctors) and she was able to go!
I let her sleep in Saturday morning cuz I knew the day was going to be busy. Hair and makeup began at 7 am but we arrived a little after 9...everything was in wedding mode by then. Maddy wasn't herself and just sorta laid low (which was actually good LOL). After I got my hair done, Maddy went and got hers done...no questions asked...she just sat there (that was a miracle because she doesn't even let me brush her hair and now she was letting some stranger use a curling iron).
By the time we went to the Church - she was getting sleepy again and it was soooo hot while we waited for the gorgeous bride to arrive...the church was overflowing with friends and family. The flowergirls did a PHENOMENOL job walking down the aisle...I was behind them so I couldn't see if they were smiling or not, but they walked and that's all that mattered. They took a seat at the front of the church and didn't budge from there either. The ceremony was quick and lovely...Nancy blessed them Husband and Wife and then we were out - popping streamers at the married couple!
We went back to the house for pictures then headed to the hall where there were cocktails, speeches, dinner and dancing. We snuck out after the dinner to pick up Tanner and by the time we got back, Maddy was sleeping on my sister. We let her be for a bit thinking it was just a little nap (cuz she wanted to dance) but by 10:30 pm, she wasn't waking up so we packed everything up and headed home. It had been a long day, so I wasn't upset about leaving! I would have loved to have danced some, I would have loved to enjoy the pizza luncheon at midnight and I would have liked to have mingled longer, but with Maddy having a rough week, it just made sense to bring her home and let her sleep it off some more.
Yesterday she was back to normal...we headed to Church where she made me a Mother's Day gift then we went to my parents for a bbq...
It was a lovely weekend filled with love and all that...and it was gorgeous weather too! Lindsay and Ryan are probably on their plane right now heading to their honeymoon - I wish them good weather, good food and total relaxation! See ya's when you get back!

Sick Little Girl
The wedding is in 3 days - tonight is rehearsal and at the moment I am washing all of Maddy's bedding and some extra because she was up all night SICK...poor little thing.
Yesterday before bed she complained of a sore stomach...but her daddy wasn't home from work (working overtime) and I thought it was just that (because she kept asking where he was then complained of the sore belly)...so I warmed up the "magic yellow pillow" and tucked her in bed as usual...
Hubby came home, we chatted a bit then I went up to bed...I was just falling asleep when I heard Maddy screaming...I actually stayed in bed cuz Hubby jumped up...then he yelled for me, she had puked all over her bed. I changed her bedding, changed her jammies and gave her some Advil...only 10 minutes later, she puked again. So much for the medicine. The rest of the night, she puked off and on and eventually went to sleep with her daddy, sending me into her bed...her pukey bed that was now covered in a towel (because I only have two sets of sheets for her bed) and eventually, Tanner joined me. Not long after I had Maddy settled and myself, I heard Tanner coughing on the monitor, up I went into his room and there he started to projectile vomit all over me....GREAT! I brought him into Maddy's room with me, changed him and cuddled him till he was back to sleep...luckily he only did it once and I think it was just cuz at his last bottle feeding, Maddy was screaming and puking and Hubby was upstairs sleeping through it, so I just put Tanner in his crib without properly burping him or letting him digest (this is what I am hoping anyways).
She is up this morning laying on the couch with the heating pad on her belly (cuz the "magic yellow pillow" got dirty last night) - she is sipping on liquids and trying to get an applesauce down. I am making sure she stays hydrated but not forcing her to eat too much. I will continue to give her Advil, as she feels a bit warm and eventually, hoping to make it to the city to get some Gravol for her. Tonight is rehearsal and I want her to be in tiptop shape, but however, it is only rehearsal and I don't care if we just get her to walk down the aisle, come home and rest, as long as she is good to go on Saturday for the actual day!
I hate seeing her sick cuz she is NEVER sick, like I can count on one hand how many times she has been sick (in 5 years, that's pretty good)!
So I will continue to wash sheets, clothes and comforters and just give her cuddles and hope that this passes as quick as it came!
Cheers :)

Weekend Mayhem
This past weekend was insanely busy...
Friday morning I had the kids and car packed up and my Mom and I headed to the city for the day to pick up stuff for my sister's bridal shower we were hosting. Maddy was uber excited cuz she was going to Daycare for a visit...by noon we had most of our running around and it was just groceries left. It was a long, exhausting day and it wasn't even over yet. When I got home and unloaded all the groceries and stuff, I was onto making cakes...7 cakes to be exact...for a special little girl's 1st birthday. Once I had them all out of the oven, I was running out the door again...to a surprise shower for my cousin and friend, Lindsay. It was of course a good time surrounded my friends, gifts and lots of yummy food. When I came home that night, I started to crumb coat all my cakes and knew it was going to be a busy morning.
Saturday morning I was up early and making icing...loads and loads of icing. This cake I was doing was going to be sweet! It had 2 x 10", 2 x 8" and 1 x 6" plus a smash cake.
After re-doing the cake twice, this is what it looked like...I wasn't completely satisfied but I couldn't do anything else different. It started melting so I had to deliver it to her right away so she could keep it in a cool place. The rest of the day was prepping sandwiches and stuff for my sister's bridal shower.
Sunday I was up again early...5:00 am actually and finished the last of the food and stuff. I then hurried to get the kids dressed, myself dressed and the car packed and headed down to the hall to set up. We set the tables using centerpieces I found on Pinterest...
I made cute (but corny) party favors found here
It was a good turnout and I think Shannon got some really nice gifts, I didn't even see them cuz I was started to clean up! By that afternoon, I was sooo pooped out, we just relaxed the rest of the evening.
This week is a bit less stressed...Wednesday is rehearsal and then Saturday will be a busy day, but sooo looking forward to the wedding!

Bye Tinker
Yesterday we said goodbye to our cat, Tinker. I was sorta saddened by this when the time to actually do it. We talked about getting rid of her before and that was okay, but now where we are moving, there are no pets, so this time, it was serious. I was really hoping that someone would take her so we wouldn't have had to put her down just because ya know...luckily some lady wanted her for her daughter's birthday.
Tinker is almost 8 years old. I remember the day I got her. Off to Petsmart we went cuz I had it in my head, I wanted a kitten. Over $200 later, we adopted Tinker. Hubby couldn't believe that I actually spent that on a cat when there are so many strays around and people always giving them away...but I was in the city and this is how I had to do it, plus I wanted one with shots and already fixed.
When we picked her out, she was in a cage with her sister. Tinker's original name is Veronica, therefore, it only made sense that her sister in the same cage was called Betty. We actually had to sit down and fill out all these adoption papers, Hubby and I had just started dating and he had to sign his life away too!
Tinker really has been a good cat...she has never caused us any trouble...the thing that does bug me is the fur all over the place...I hate always cleaning it off the couches, chairs and curtains. She is an indoor cat but likes to go outside for a bit at times to play with the million other cats that hang out at our place...
I won't miss the changing of the litter, I won't miss the hair...but I will miss her sleeping at the foot of our bed (when she gets in her cuddle-me mood) and I will miss her drinking the last of the milk from a bowl of cereal.
I hope she likes her new home and is a good girl...I miss you (and I am all teary eyed now)

Mother's Day...just another day at my house *sigh*
Welcome to We Want to Know Wednesdays Q&A

This week's questions are all about an upcoming holiday - MOTHERS DAY!
{one} What would be your ideal way to spend Mothers day?
That is easy...a day (or weekend) of total relaxation and pampering. Massages, facials, hot tubs, chocolate covered strawberries and of course another fellow Mommy to join me for adult conversation!
{two} Which would you rather receive actual gifts or gifts of service?
Gifts are nice but I do like receiving gift cards...especially to this spot!
She @ http://she-she-says.blogspot.com wants to know:
{three}How do you juggle it all? How many different "hats" do you wear and how do you accomplish all you have to do?
I find it hard at times, especially with Maddy being home and a new baby...I didn't think I would but sometimes I just want to be alone. I sometimes wish I had things to do during the week...once upon a time, we were part of a Women's Craft Night but I quit that...Hubby golfs on Thursday nights and then he has plans on weekends which doesn't give me a break all that much...oh well, I love my kids!!
Vandy @ http://tttandme.blogspot.com/ wants to know:
{four} What was your "Oh no, I'm turning into my mom" moment?
I don't know - when I first had Maddy, none of my friends had kids yet, so anytime being out, it felt like all I had to talk about was Maddy...now though, most of my friends have kids and our conversation always leads to them...we had a bachelorette party on the weekend, the "moms" were sitting together and we talked about potty training and daycares! My biggest "Mom" moment would be when we would have to buy a Mini Van! LOL!
Natalie @ http://wibblywobblyme.blogspot.com/ wants to know:
{five}What should you be doing right now instead of participating in today's WWTK linky?
Probably attending to my newborn who is laying on the couch beside me cooing away...as I am writing this, I just keep pushing his soother back in his mouth! Haha!

Moving
If I didn't have enough stuff to do in May and June, I have now added packing and moving to the mix. What was I thinking? It sorta came suddenly and I am excited.
We have been renting this house for about 7 years and I just need a change, as much as we want to buy a house, it just isn't happening just yet so we are going to rent another place. The reason I am happy is - it has been completely renovated and is new. It has it's bad parts too - it's like a townhouse so there are 5 units...it's smaller and there is no yard. These things don't bother me. We are getting rid of things and saving in heating costs is going to be the bonus. We heat with oil right now and have spent close to $2,500 just for the winter...this place is electric heat and you will get heat from the people beside you and it is smaller so it won't cost nearly as much.
I hate packing but I am glad that I am on maternity leave and can do this during the day. The landlord is giving us the key early and we can start moving things in slowly so that is good too!
Here is to HAPPY PACKING!!
