We Want To Know...all about Easter!

Welcome to We Want to Know Wednesdays Q&A

Crazymama is asking the questions this week and this is what she wants to know:

{1} What is your favorite Easter tradition?
The only tradition we have is the easter egg hunt.  This year however, I am switching it up...Maddy is 5 and I try to stay away from giving her chocolate...she tends to turn into a different person - so this year, I bought her little gifts (bubbles, kite, clothes etc) and I have made up little clues that I will put in those plastic eggs and she can go and find the little gifts!

{2} Tell us about your Easter meal.
We go to my parents and have a turkey meal (I think)...nothing special...it's the  same as Christmas and Thanksgiving I believe...

{3} Do you decorate for Easter?
I do!  Not as much as Christmas, but I put some window clings up...we have made a few crafts...some decorated eggs...

{4} Your Easter basket is not complete without....
Duh...CHOCOLATE

{5} Are you getting an Easter dress?
I will not be getting an Easter dress, but Maddy always has a special new dress for every occasion and so yes...she has an Easter dress!

Speaking of Easter, I found this article...apparently, Easter has become more about gifts than chocolate, because chocolate just isn't enough anymore!

How can chocolate not be enough anymore! It's everything!

So glad my kids still believe in the easter bunny and that he brings chocolate!

I think that's a great idea for Maddy's Easter Egg hunt, she's gonna love it!

I like chocolate, but growing up my mom (who sold Avon) always filled my basket with little gifts and lotions and chapsticks and stuff. I really liked those baskets. We ahve kind of kept up the tradition with the boys as they get small gifts in the basket and some candy, but not a lot.

I wasn't keen on my kids having tons of sweets so we were more about creative baskets- wagons with gardening tools, buckets w/beach stuff etc. with just a bit of candy.

For myself- the chocolate tastes better half price so I stock up afterwards when it's on clearance. ;)

I really like that you give your daughter little clues to find gifts around the house instead of filling her up full of candy! I might have to do a little bit of that for my boys, haha.

Great idea for Maddy. That man that always hangs around me and I like our eggs she decorated!

that article...wow. pressure, really? i think the parents start the traditions, so it is also up to them to set the expectations. right?

GREAT idea for the treasure/egg hunt.

i need to read that article. my sister in law does crazy big gifts like train tables and video games. I do candy and a stuffed animal. one year we went candy free and they got money and piggy banks in their baskets. another year they got singing toothbrushes and minimal candy.

my friend is doing non candy treats and then she's giving notes good for extra time with mom and dad before bed, an extra story book, computer time, a small treat. fun stuff.

thanks for linking up! great answers.

I'd have to agree with the article. I don't like to put a lot of candy in the baskets so I buy toys... now I buy toys AND candy! Between the two kids, I can easily spend over $100 each, when I only meant to spend $5!
