SCARY!!

We hear about murders, homicides, sexual assaults and other scary crimes every day on the news.  We hear of these taking place just an hour away from us...in the city...but yesterday the news was buzzing of a recent homicide, in our small, little community.

News started buzzing around the social media world.  People on Facebook were sharing links of a homicide probe...a 19 year old was found naked, dead in his car near a ditch in the back country, on a gravel road.  The police were tight lipped and that's all the information given.

Now, they have a 19 year old from our area arrested and the 19 year old that was found dead was the stepson of our Fire Chief.  Although I do not know him, I know his step father and it just makes me sick.  We haven't heard any other information about how he was killed or anything.  I like to think that this was not a random act and that he wasn't killed by some random person...although it doesn't make the situation any better for anyone, I like to think that the two people knew each other - puts me at ease that there is not a "killer" on the loose.

Here is a link to the story!  Happy Monday...LOL!

On a happier note, how was everyone's weekend?

Friday evening we headed to my grandparents to play cards...well I don't, but I bring the kids up to visit.  It was soooo cute because Maddy played with Papa all night.  She has never warmed up to him cuz they didn't live close to us, then when they moved closer, he was sick with throat cancer and ended up losing his voice completely.  Friday night though she played with him and I think he was very happy!  On another happy note, he is getting his voicebox put in this Thursday so he'll be able to talk again!!

Saturday I just cleaned up the house and got ready for Lindsay's Bachelorette.  The guys all headed out early in the day for a round of golf then BBQ and drinks at the "Camp" while the ladies only went later in the evening across the river to The Crazy Horse.  It was a good night away from the kiddos for a couple of hours and I was relieved when I got home that my kids were both fine and not sick.  While we were having dinner two seperate Mom's had to take off cuz their kids were sick at home.  Later finding out that it was all their daycare literally that was sick.  I am sooo thankful that my kids are not at daycare presently but I am lucky (knock on wood) that my kids are almost NEVER sick.  The Bachelorette for us had ended really after supper but we still got to enjoy seeing Lindsay all dolled up in the bachelorette gear, we all got to name ourselves something "sexy" with name tags and we got to see her complete some tasks off of her checklist!

Sunday we headed to Church and then spent the day relaxing at home...

Hope you all had a good weekend!

I was very sad to hear about Nick - I didn't know him well, but I met up with him a few times at Karate (he took it in Luskville at the time) and he was such a nice kid.

That was quite a shock...we saw the police car take off down the side road on our way to church. Prayers for all the families, that's so tragic and scary. I feel for the Chief finding his step son's body.

Glad the bachelorette was fun, wedding week is here!
