I soooo cannot wait until Monday mornings are spent at home...in my jammies and lounging with my babies at home ~bittersweet~
Anyhoo...this weekend...not much went down:
Friday night, Hubby had a date with my grandmother to play cards, so Maddy and I headed to visit some friends (and collect some baby stuff they had borrowed from me). We had a great visit with the crew. Maddy loved seeing her friends: Kaylee, Jessica, Julia and Cameron.
Saturday, we ran to the city to try and exchange the Leap Pad that fell and broke. One little fall, nice and kid friendly huh? Anyways, before we left, I had called every Zellers in Ottawa and no one had a replacement one, they aren't carrying them, apparently it was just a Christmas thing. Great - thanks! So I called Toys R Us and they had some. Phew. I decided we would go and return it to Zellers, get the money and just run over to Toys R Us and get the new one. Zellers kindly refunded me, HOWEVER...because it was over 30 days...they could only credit me the $125 on a gift card. Great, IF they had any in their stores, but they don't. I argued a bit and thought about just walking out, returning it to Leap Frog itself and wait the 10 - 15 days for a new one to come back. In the end, I got the gift card, but had to fork out another $125 for the new one at Toys R Us. What really got me mad about this situation was the 30 day policy. It was bought November 15th, therefore, 30 days = December 15th - BEFORE Christmas. Obviously, I couldn't have returned it beforehand losers, it was a Christmas gift. Anyways...we had wanted to buy a case for it too but of course, can't find one anywhere either. In store or online...so Maddy has been warned to be very careful with this one and if it breaks again, tough, we're getting a new toy - good bye Leap Pad!
Sunday, Maddy and I decided to go watch Hubby play hockey and glad that we did because I think it's one of the VERY FEW games they actually won. It was quite comical when the other teams were coming out of the changing rooms and were like "wow - the elbows are winning"! Poor guys, but it was a win! We then came home, made spaghetti and had my sister in law and neice over for supper.
